Terms of Service
Draft, version 0 · Last changed 2026-09-25
This is a draft. Concept Space is in beta and these terms are being finished with it. The operator's legal name and the governing law are not yet stated here. Until they are, the terms describe how the service actually behaves, and nothing more.
The service
Concept Space is a note-taking application: a web app at shelf.conceptspace.app and the account, sync and file services behind it. It is operated by an individual, referred to here as the operator, reachable at support@conceptspace.app.
Your account
You create an account with an email address you control and a password. You are responsible for keeping the password private and for what is done with your account. One person, one account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has it.
Your writing is yours
Everything you put in Concept Space stays yours: notes, properties, files, the structure you build. You give the operator only the permission needed to run the service: to store your content, sync it between your devices, merge edits made on different devices, and show it to the people you choose to share a shelf with. Nothing else. The operator does not sell it, train anything on it, or use it for advertising.
You can take it all out at any time as ordinary files. Downloading a folder gives you a zip of markdown files, and the whole shelf is a folder.
Sharing
When you share a shelf with someone by email, they can read every note in that shelf, and write in the folders you grant. You are responsible for what you share and with whom. A person you share with is responsible for what they write.
Acceptable use
Use it for writing. Do not use it to store or distribute material that is illegal where you or the operator are, to harm other people, to attack the service, or as bulk file hosting. The operator may remove content or suspend an account that does these things, and will say so when it happens.
Limits
The service has resource limits: on file size, on total storage, on request rates. They exist so one account cannot degrade the service for everyone. Current limits are shown in the app where they apply.
Beta
The service is in beta. It changes often, and some features are incomplete. Your notes are kept through every change and can always be downloaded. The operator does not promise uninterrupted availability during the beta.
Leaving
You can stop using the service at any time, and you can download everything first. Closing an account is done by writing to support@conceptspace.app from the account's address; the privacy policy says what is deleted and when.
Changes to these terms
The operator may change these terms. The version and date at the top change when they do, and a change that matters is announced in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that is acceptance.
Liability
The service is provided as it is, during a beta, without warranties. To the extent the applicable law allows, the operator is not liable for indirect losses, and liability for direct losses is limited to what you paid for the service, which during the beta is nothing.
